Aha! Surprise Haircut!

Surprise Haircut! I figured it was getting little too long, and it’s getting rather hot outside. Bah, my webcam sucks…

Anyway, my brother says I look like astroboy. :p

Closures

Ah… Don’t you just love closures?

The Solar car finally left for Chicago around 2:30PM today. They were suppose to leave at 9AM but true to Midnight Sun tradition, it got delayed for about 6 hours. Last night, I somehow ended up with 2 working LCD modules so that made my day. :) The car itself isn’t quite finished with few rough patches but since the car will be hundreds of miles away from me, it’s no longer my responsibility. Heh.

Hopefully it’ll do well. The wind tunnel test results were very good and I think we put together pretty solid car, but it would be wonderful to actually win one of these things.

I coded a simple WWW to Email gateway so that Solar Car team members can use their Blackberry pagers to surf (sort of) and get weather information. Give it a try by sending an email to gateway @ main domain address (dhead.com) either with subject of url (fully qualified - http://journal.dhead.com) or with word ‘weather’ followed by zip code or city name in USA.

Oh yeah, and another bit of closure. I got my workterm report back! I was little bit worried but I did pretty well. :)

Labs and Projects

My time over last week was more or less evenly separated between the solar car and the ece354 project. 4 day long extended weekend went by in the blink of an eye, though we did make good progress in both the solar car and the OS project.

Anyway, the ece 324 lab has this really sharp metal thing sticking out underneat the table. Since I tend to sit cross legged when I’m sitting down for extended period of time, I’m always banging my knee against it, causing a cut. Every day I’ve been in that lab, I ended up with a gash on my knee. :( Today, it was bleeding rather a lot so I put a band-aid on it - BAD IDEA! I was just taking it off and now I have these tiny red bumps all around where the hair got pulled off. :( Ouch! Next time, I’ll just let it bleed out. :p

Because all the work I’ve done on real time operating system project and solar car (and partially because my inability to concentrate after midterms), I’m rather behind in everything now. I guess I better get down and start working on them.
