NRCan FunFest

NRCan fun fest was pretty interesting - talked to a lot of people, got pretty good press coverage, and (hopefully) grabbed some attention to Univesity of Waterloo from Ottawa which is normally a Queen’s turf. I also learned to drive around with 20 feet trailer tied to 16 year old van that’s almost dying. Going up hill makes it go down to around 70kph and fatest it can go is about 110kph going downhill :D I still can’t quite figure out how to back the thing up. It’s quite tricky. Hopefully I’ll get some pictures later :D

On another hand… you know when you sometimes search for stuff in programs like eMule, you get results returned in broken languages? Well, I wondered what those were… so I saved it to a html file and looked it with internet explorer set to specific character sets… and realized a lot of them were in Korean! Score! ^_^

Finally, an update!

I’ve been quite busy lately. Bah.

Last monday, I participated in the October Fest Parade with the Midnight Sun team. For the first time in the history of Midnight Sun team, we had two cars running, so that was pretty cool seeing two cars running beside/around/racing each other. :) However, to participate, I had to wake up at 5 in the morning which wasn’t too good.

Tomorrow, I’ll be leaving for Ottawa for NRC’s Science/Tech Week event held there. My first trip to Ottawa - it’ll be interesting. :)

Erm, my video card died today… so I plugged in 7 years old ATI Rage3D Video card (with 4MB of RAM!)… heh, Windows runs fine but any type of game runs like a slide show. I also ordered wireless router and card so hopefully that’ll arrive soon so that I can play with it. :)

Busy busy busy even if it’s workterm… bah, next time I try to volunteer for something, slap me.

Achoo!

This blog is sponsored by Trinh :)

It’s cold - in a week, it went from summer weather to, well, cold. I guess I better prepare for 6 months of cold again… Pooey.

Not much happening all around. Still working on the Solar Car, in the planning phase for events next year. The innova project is taking more and more time as its scope keeps on getting bigger. Ah well, one of these days, I should just sit down and get everything over with… though things doesn’t always go as planned.

I got on Dean’s Honour List, so I’m happy! :) What’s surprising, though, is that I lost tremendous amount of time to solar car this term, including that 1 week off in Kansas and somewhere around 40 hours per week I spent on the project to get the car ready for American Solar Challenge. It either means I’m becoming more interested and better at ECE stuff (since courses are becoming more specialized) or that I function better under stress (and without much sleep ;) ). Probably bit of both.

In any case, I better make most of this vacation (heh) time before 8 straight months of school hits.

PS. Bah, I’ve been using too much vi lately - I tried to save the blog by typing :wq XD
