Matrix Revolutions

Watched Matrix Revolutions today - so possible spoiler alert, though I don’t think I’ll say anything that’ll spoil the movie.

It wasn’t as bad as all the reviews and stuff made it out to be. Enjoyable movie, more focused toward action than the previous two… But the only scene that really got my attention weren’t the 30 minutes long extended fight scenes - it was the one towards the end where Trinity finally sees with her own eyes what the fight really is about, that moment of clarity…

Heh, I had couple of inner chuckles at Trinity (Trinhity?) being called “Trin” (Trinh?)… and some of the ridiculous sappy scenes… but hey, at least there wasn’t a Rave scene. :)

PS. Scene that I’m referring to is the one where they go up through the clouds…

That sappy scene at the end was so ridiculous. Everybody in the theatre was chuckling.

    SPOILER ALERT:

Did you notice how they had Neo turn into a golden crucifix? This film borrowed so heavily from ancient Christian gnostic tradition it’s not even funny.

The Mechs? I dunno, I personally thought that they were kinda ridiculous. It did look cool, but it was basically un-winnable fight :p

By the way, the scene that I’m talking about is the one where they go up through the clouds…. And yeah, very heavily borrowed from bible as is many other quasi-religious sci-fi/anime works… though Neo does, which doesn’t quite fit ;)

Only thing I don’t understand about the mechs is why the cockpits weren’t protected at all. Why would you have a heavy duty mech that can be easily taken out by sniping the pilot? Bleh…

    One thing: Dragonball Z…

    ***** SPOILER ALERT *****
Heh… I just like the moving parts of the mech, and the machine/hand guns… But I did see a couple of weird things in the movies.

First of all. If EMP is the sure way to win agains the machine, why not have a couple of those lying around? I mean forget the mechs and bullets, just EMP them wave after wave… unless of course they consume too much energy which could be pausible. If the machines can’t break up and climb up the clouds, why not build a couple of dropships to launch EMP waves on the machine city from above?
Yeah, as Dan and L mentionned, there seemed to be a lot of imagery from Christianity. The Machine Boss at the end… weirdly “thru Neo’s eyes” ressembled an angel or sorts… meh….

Yeah! Unprotected pilots! That was exactly what I was thinking… and I was also thinking about how the shocks/anti-vibration stuff in those mechs would work… heh, I’m a geek. :) Another thing I was trying to figure out, was the method that sentinels used to fly and the power source of the sentinels… Hmm… nice Lithium Ion batteries? Or do each sentinel carry around couple of humans for energy purposes?

Yeah, in hindsight… a lot of pieces of the puzzle doesn’t quite fit… Ah well, that’s why I want to matinee showing :D

Isn’t that why you wanted to develop cold fusion before? To power things like those sentinels? :p
