Voting

So, I went and voted today at the advanced polls. Voted for Steve Strauss, Conservatives. A friend of mine was contacted by Strauss’ staff after talking about him, so in case Mr. Strauss is reading this, here’s one for you! :)

The street I live on (Beechlawn) doesn’t have any Strauss signs, but there are A LOT of signs if you go inside the Beechwood area. I usually go up Beechlawn and turn on Columbia, so I normally don’t see these signs… but when I drove right through the Beechwood area (shorter drive to get to Waterloo Memorial Recreation Centre where the advanced polls are held), I saw the Strauss sign on basically every corner. :)

So, why did I vote for Strauss? First of all, I’m pragmatic… meaning I probably won’t be voting for Green Party or Christian Heritage Party. This basically leaves us with Conservatives, Liberals, and the NDP. Why Conservatives from the three? Well, their views are closest to my views of what Canada should be like. At the end, it comes down to the fact that I believe people will have to be responsible for their own actions and suffer the consequences. Having very Christian, Entrepreneurial, and Conservative upbringing probably didn’t hurt either. :p

Tastetations

So, before you know it, 2 weeks has passed by. The solar car tour is coming closer and closer, midterms have already passed me by, and due dates for 4 projects are staring me right at the face with none of them even touched yet.

Anyway, I unfortunately have to open this with a bad news. Hershey’s have discontinued Tastetations. After scouring all the neighbourhood grocery stores (and not finding it) I finally called Hershey’s where they confirmed that Tastetations indeed has been discontinued… and that they are not at liberty to tell me why. (Marketing Decision, or so she said). This is sad, sad day… There are no other good hard candies… I *hate* any caramel based hard candies, and all the other chocolate hardcandies somehow have caramel in them.

Hmm… Other interesting news in my life…. well, my life isn’t very interesting, so I’ll try to mask that fact by turning your attention toward dancing stick figures!

Oh yeah… I think I’m finally starting to enjoy ECE413 (Digital Signal Processing)… surprise, surprise… first math based course I’ve enjoyed since highschool :p

I figure I should write more…

I’ve been keeping close taps on weather forecasts (because Midnight Sun Solar Race Team need to do Driver Training for the upcoming summer events). I didn’t know they were that bad! They can usually predict whether it’ll rain or be sunny, but throw in any transition weather (ie, going from sunny to raining) and they can be completely off. Bah, I’ve heard people complain about it, but seeing it with my own eyes validates it a little more. Hmm… Weather prediction would be an interesting problem to work on, though. :D

Got an American Express card. :) Main reason why I applied for it is because it comes with free 1 year extension on warranties and 90 day insurance on damage and theft for (almost) any item bought with the card. I just need to decide which camera I’ll be buying and when I can justify buying it. It’s a lot of money. o_O Knowing me, I’ll ponder this way and that way for a LOOOONG time… then just go out and buy it one day.

Hmm.. Very hectic, with lots of things going on. Midterm starts next week… D’oh!
