End of an Era
There’s 10 more weeks left before my undergraduate career at the University of Waterloo is officially over… It’s been a long, hard, and interesting journey, full of friends and memories.
Today, I was trying to fix my mechanical pencil with some crazy glue. While fixing it, some got spilled on the paper that I was using as a workarea… so without thinking, I started swirling it with the newly fixed mechanical pencil… It took me a second before I realized that crazy glue would probably get the lead stuck on the hole that it comes out of. By that time, the entire mechanical pencil assembly was nicely and solidly crazy glued…
This was mechanical pencil that Henrick gave me back in 1A when he borrowed mine and lost it, the one with which I’ve written all of my final exams up until now.
Before I came to Waterloo, I bought a pack of Sanford Uni-Ball Vision pens. It was a 10 pen set, with 2 blacks, 2 blues, and purple, green, baby blue, red, pink, and dark red. I started diligently taking notes with them… The blue was first to go, followed by black and another blue. At that point (around 2A/2B, I think) I decided to evenly use all the colours for taking my notes. The black was next to go, followed by purple and green. Well, last week, the last colour that I had - red - finally died.
With all the things happening around me, It’s interesting to see how things are slowly coming to a close… Kevin and Tsu are busy trying to organize the champagne breakfast, iron ring ceremony is little over a week away, pictures are over in 6 weeks, and on April 19th, I’ll be writing my last exam… And I don’t feel any different from me 5 years ago, a scared and confused little boy living in Village 1… I haven’t seen Henrick in a while, I wonder how he’s doing…
