Insightful Articles

This article on gay marriage (which does not support one view over another, but does make you stop for a second and really think) is one of the most insightful article that I’ve read in a long, long time. Last time I read an article and felt so mentally engaged was when I read John Perry Barlow’s The Economy of Ideas which I first came across about 5 years ago, and was written more than a decade ago. Hmm, maybe I’m turning into a closet libertarian. :P

Well, the main reason why I’m posting this is because I don’t want to just bookmark it somewhere and lose it along the way… so if I put it here, it’ll be more likely for me to find the link again… and maybe some of you can sit down and read too. :)

Spring is here, but it’s snowing again… How Canadian!

Duck! Here’s a picture of a very friendly duck who didn’t mind my camera being right up against it… But after the picture, he Quack!ed and waddled away. Just something different, since I’ve had several shots of canadian geese lately, one of which managed to get on the Daily Bulletin.

My future situation is kinda working itself out. I’ve talked to Prof. Aplevich and he said he will have the funding to give me a Research Assistantship if I didn’t get OGS, which now tilts the grad work toward him. I’ve been looking at different research available and it looks like I’ll be working toward doing more theoretical side of things… As for full time work, I’ve ruled it out for the moment, although I may end up working there over the summer and perhaps in part-time basis if it works out with them.

I had my security interview for clearance to let me into a sponsoring company so that we could test the batteries for the car. It was surprisingly easy and brief… heh, maybe it’s a Canada thing. :) Solar car is slowly progressing, though I think we’re definitely behind schedule now… There’s 40 odd days left, and still the entire car that needs to be built…

One of the things that’s been in back of mind is something to possibly start (or restart, I suppose) a company and a business. I’ve been toying with an idea that may have some merit and could have some interesting applications… and I can already think of a way to promote it and a possibly way to sell it… :)

I’ve removed my link to wordpress.org as a result of some fishy spamming business… I guess I’ll try to read up on it and figure out what exactly is going on with this.
